Tips for success
Stay in school!
All the research says the greatest indicator for success in college is the rigor of your high school experience. This means taking the hard classes. Sign up for advance placement classes and honors classes.
Join Project Discovery. If you hang with kids who are talking about college, planning for college and working towards college, you will be more likely to do the same.
Understand that whatever it is that you want to do in "real life" will require extra schooling. It might not be college, but a trade school. There are good jobs and good pay available for carpenters, plumbers and mechanics. There is interesting work in the health care and legal fields for people with two year degrees and professional training certificates.
Fill out the financial aid forms and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is your gateway to money for college.
