Adopt a Student
Project Discovery is a very cost effective way for you to help a student make there way through high school and on to college. While some similar federal programs cost over $5,000.00 per year/per student, Project Discovery delivers it program for about $900.00 per year/per student, plus the 100% soft match (in-kind donations of office space, clerical help, etc.) made by local partner agencies.
If you were to donate $900.00, you could provide all of the costs for one student to receive a full year of Project Discovery's program of workshops, campus visits, mentoring, and support. Remember that your monetary contribution is match 100% in other donations by the local partner agency. Plus, for any donation over $500.00 from an individual in a single year, ($1,000.00 for a business) you can receive a 40% tax credit to use to offset your Virginia State income tax.
Your donation can be directed to a program in your area or even to a particular student. Contact the state-wide Project Discovery office for details about the Neighborhood Assistance Program tax credits and directing your donations to a local program or student.
